| Description: | Located in Northern New Jersey, we are looking for a foreman/tree climber who has 5+ years experience working in the tree care industry to join our dynamic team of tree care specialists. Almstead Tree and Shrub Care was a one man company started in 1964 by Richard Almstead. With a "chain saw, some rope and a truck" Mr. Almstead began what would eventually become a well known and respected tree and shrub care organization. Headquartered in New Rochelle, New York, Almstead has branches in Connecticut and New Jersey; a service range that extends throughout the entire tri-state area. Our customers range in size from single family homes to large commercial properties in this highly affluent area of the country. Responsibilities: • Perform specialized pruning, take downs and the installation of cabling and bracing systems • Direct crew in performance of work to be done; assign job specific tasks • Supervise workmanship to ensure the work meets job order specifications • Walk job site with consulting arborist • Ensure crew members wear all safety equipment at all times and that safety practices and measures are followed • Manage time, equipment and materials used to ensure job organization, equipment utilization and manpower are used in the most efficient manner • Work closely with supervisor/consulting arborist to insure the job meets client’s expectations • Direct the cleanup of job site and ensure all equipment and supplies are secured on the trucks • Reorder materials and supplies needed for trucks and equipment • Adhere to company safety and training policies to maintain safe and controlled work environment at all times • Confirm that all maintenance checks and services on equipment are followed • Ensure that crews are properly trained and understand company safety policies and procedures Requirements: * 5-7 years industry experience in residential tree care with the ability to train/direct crew members in all facets of tree care. * Knowledge of common trees and shrubs and good communication skills are essential. * Quality workmanship, quality control with customer care attitude * CDL Drivers License preferred Benefits: •Excellent compensation programs •Company 401K plan •Company medical and dental plans w/employer contribution •Long Term Disability •Performance based management opportunities – promote from within concept •Strong mentoring and training program •Relocation assistance (strong candidates) •Company recognition award program •Team building/family events – annual picnic & holiday party |
