| Description: | Hermes Landscaping is looking for a Commercial Landscape Estimator HERMES LANDSCAPING, a green industry leader in the Kansas City metropolitan area, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator who is seeking an opportunity to use his or her skills on a full-time basis. If you have a passion for exciting projects we would love to have you help us manage the ebb and flow of our work. This is a fast paced department with time-critical deadlines. We are seeking candidates with 3-5 years’ estimating experience and preferably landscape or green industry experience. Successful candidate will be excellent in communication, organization, and efficiency and have above-average attention to detail. The Estimator is responsible for preparing a take-off based on the information contained in the drawings for Design/Build construction projects. From shopping plazas to the largest of sporting venues, this individual will be involved in creating beauty at some of Kansas City’s more high profile new properties. Requirements for the Estimator position: • Reviews plans and specs issued by architects for the solicitation of bids. Must be able to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications. • Developing accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for a variety of projects ranging from 10K to over 3 million using estimating software. • Working with suppliers and vendors to compile data for estimates. • Often the estimator will need to solicit information form the architect to complete the bid as well as answer questions regarding the method used for the take off to clients. • Preparing a written scope of work for presentations. Reading, analyzing and interpreting blueprints and other bid documents. • Excellent oral communication skills are required. Building strong, long term customer relationships is a must. This is a fast-paced department with time critical deadlines. The successful applicant must be able to meet the above listed requirements as well as be organized, efficient and have impeccable attention to detail.
