| Description: | Great opportunity for licensed chemical applicator to take the next step in their career! Hermes Landscaping has an opening on their management team for a Turf and Ornamental Manager to join our specialized group in lawn care. The Turf and Ornamental Manager will supervise 2-3 employees and be responsible for the management and oversight of herbicides, pesticides, turf and plant care for the organization. Seeking a candidate with a minimum of two years experience in chemical application. Turf, weed, and insect knowledge are required. Job Duties: • Physically implement all production activities on the job site in accordance with pre-established work schedules and specifications. • Manage and implement necessary changes in methods, schedules and procedures to improve job quality and production of efficiency. • Mix pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides for application to trees, shrubs, lawns, or botanical crops. • Ensure accurate reporting of time sheet payroll reporting and other job records. • Maintain strict punctuality at starting and quitting times, break and lunch periods. • Manage and ensure all safety rules and precautions are being enforced on a daily basis. • Make sure sprayer tanks are filled with water and chemicals, according to formulas. • Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides, applying knowledge of weather conditions, droplet sizes, elevation-to-distance ratios, and obstructions. • Start motors and engage machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. • Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas. • Connect hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities. • Treat specific insect, weed, turf disease and nutritional deficiencies by application of appropriate product. • Maintain power spray equipment in a safe, clean and mechanically sound condition at all times. • Under minimal supervision, complete spray requests per schedule. • Maintain accurate records of chemical usage according to all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. • Use good judgment in the application of chemicals (exposure to the public, weather conditions and other environmental considerations). |
