Position Summary: The Field Operations Manager plays a critical role in driving safety, quality and efficiency in U.S. Lawns field operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Field Operations Manager is a key member of the branch leadership team.

Job Duties: The Field Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring job site quality and ensuring that the site appearance meets and/or exceeds the client’s expectations (as measured by our customer’s satisfaction survey) and company standards. Schedules and directs field personal and resources, providing directions and goals to be accomplished, emphasizing quality and efficiency of operations. Provides hands-on training and support of field employees, in areas such as safety, asset management, proper pruning techniques, operation of equipment and the application of fertilizers and control products. Oversees Crew Leader and Gardener training and certification; identifies and develops high performing gardeners into Crew Leaders. Performs hands-on work with crews as needed to meet work and scheduling demands.
Qualifications: Six (6) to eight (8) years of landscape experience, including three (3) years as a Crew Leader (flexible based upon other qualifications). Valid driver’s license required. Must be able to communicate effectively (both written and oral) in both English and Spanish. CT/MA Pesticide Operators License a plus.
Desired Characteristics: Team oriented, prepared to lead by example, a demonstrated interest and capacity in developing people. Knowledge of local turfs, shrubs, groundcover, and seasonal color including growth characteristics, appropriate maintenance techniques, and most common issues. A proven, positive approach to leadership, with a track record of getting results.
