The Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining commercial irrigation systems by performing the following duties: Installing systems and insuring that they function efficiently. Repairing and maintaining valves, tracing electrical components, installing and initializing clocks and timers, locating existing zones and valves and performing pump repairs. Activate and deactivate irrigation systems according to seasonal priorities or pre-established schedules. Ensuring that customers are completely satisfied through effective communication, relationship building and regular site visits. Purchases parts required to repair, create or renovate irrigation systems while maintaining accurate inventory and strict cost controls to ensure job performance is within financial requirements. Schedules and directs field personal and resources, providing directions and goals to be accomplished, emphasizing quality and efficiency of operations. Manages and maintains all administrative and record keeping systems. Qualifications: Two year degree in Landscape, Turf, Horticulture, or related discipline is a plus, but not required. Leadership and past irrigation experience in the commercial landscape industry will be given priority. Valid driver’s license required. Bi-lingual a plus. Ability to read, write and speak English, to proficiently read, comprehend and interpret blue prints, regulatory forms and reports, employment forms and speak to law enforcement officials when needed.
